Though Maine Farmhouse Brands was officially founded in the spring of 2022, its story began nearly four decades ago.
In 1985, a pharmacist named Dan Mickool began formulating and compounding soaps for his family. His goal was to produce high-quality products using all-natural ingredients that he would feel good about his family using. As a healthcare provider, Dan possessed an acute understanding of ingredients and was determined to only use those that were considered to be safe.
In the wake of growing concern that petrochemicals (made from fossil-fuels) and other synthetic additives may be adversely harming our health, Dan launched Maine Farmhouse Brands.
Each and every one of our products is handcrafted and made from locally sourced (when possible) high quality ingredients. We only make products that we trust our families and friends using.
